Augusta gets historic grant
AUGUSTA — The Maine Community Foundation, celebrating its 25th year, has awarded a $25,000 grant to the Augusta Historic Preservation Commission.
Augusta Mayor Roger Katz said the funding will be used to help historic preservation efforts in the city’s downtown area.

An Excursion to Old York
Join us for an excursion to the Museums of Old York, one of Maine’s great historical institutions.
You will be treated to:
a gallery tour of In the Eye of the Beholder, Old York’s contribution to this year’s Maine Folk Art Trail;
a guided tour of the Elizabeth Perkins House, a colonial revival masterpiece;
and a walking tour of the history and architecture of Victorian York Beach.
The group will meet at Old York at 9:15am; organized activities will end at 12:45pm and you will be free for lunch on your own and to explore further. A detailed itinerary and directions will be sent to participants.
